Five 40g saltwater glow stick jigs with twin-hook assist rigs, Mylar flash and 15 chemical light tubes. Delivery is included within Australia.
Each metal jig has a side-to-side recess designed to hold one of the supplied chemical lights. Bend the tube to activate it, snap it into the centre of the jig and fish it like a conventional 40g metal jig.
The reflective finish, compact baitfish profile and Mylar flash continue to provide movement and reflection, while the chemical light creates a low-level glow without needing to be charged with a torch.

How the Chemical Light Works
- Bend one of the plastic light tubes until the inner vial breaks and the tube begins to glow.
- Snap the activated tube securely into the recess through the centre of the jig.
- Check that it is properly seated before lowering or casting the jig.
- Work the lure through the depth where fish are holding.
The jigs themselves are reusable. Each chemical light is single-use, which is why the pack includes three lights per jig.
Glow Stick Jig vs Lumo Jig

They are different ways of adding visibility rather than one being automatically better in every situation. The action, weight, profile, depth and position of the jig remain important.
When to Use a 40g Glow Jig
A 40g jig can be a useful choice in shallower water, manageable current or when fish are feeding on relatively small bait. It can also be cast at surface-feeding pelagics when the tackle and conditions allow.
There is no fixed maximum depth for a 40g jig. Current, wind, boat drift, braid diameter and the jig’s shape all affect how quickly it sinks and whether it remains in the strike zone.
Use the lightest jig that still gives you useful control. If the line is sweeping well away from the boat before the jig reaches the fish, move to a heavier jig. Our jig-weight guide explains the decision in more detail.
How to Fish These Glow Jigs
For vertical jigging, drop the lure to the depth where fish are showing on the sounder and work it upward using short lifts, longer sweeps or a quicker mechanical-jigging rhythm. If fish are suspended, avoid automatically dropping all the way to the bottom.
The jigs can also be cast at feeding fish and retrieved like a compact metal lure. Change the speed, amount of lift and length of the pause until you find the presentation the fish respond to.
The chemical light is an additional visual cue, not a substitute for putting the lure in front of the fish.
Tested on Real Australian Fish
We first tested these jigs around Sydney, where they caught kingfish and flathead. A later trip to Cooktown produced a queenfish on the Great Barrier Reef.

Those catches do not mean the light will outperform every conventional jig on every trip, but they give us considerably more confidence than a catalogue description alone.
Care and Disposal
After saltwater use, rinse the jig and hooks in fresh water and allow them to dry before storage. Remove the used chemical tube from the jig and dispose of it with your general household waste. Do not cut the tube open or discard it into the water.
