Out last week in the 6.4m centre console and running 14 miles offshore to a set of private FADs. On the way out the Mercury 150HP missed a couple of times. Couldn’t remember when my last service was because it goes in regularly for various jobs and I have a Mercury on the 4.2m centre console too. Called up Shannon the service guy only to find the motor’s done 400 hours since its last service in February 2019! Booked in for late next week but since that development I’m restricted to the smaller boat only and close in fishing around the Harbour. Very grateful I can get on the water at all, considering the challenges we’re facing. Here's a video:
Thankfully our readers have been getting out there into them. Slow jigging expert Chris Chan had a fantastic day off Sydney:
Good on you Chris and very grateful for your pics and report. Brad from Sea Lord Howe Charters is locked down on the island with no tourists allowed. He’s making the best of it:
Here’s the jigs doing all the damage over there. Note that when our stock runs out we will have to put the price up? Unfortunately the Australian dollar has fallen considerably since the last shipment of these arrived. With jigging season cranking up in a month or so they’d be a good investment:
Dave fishing the NSW South Coast and super pleased with his new boat:
Excellent. Great to hear from Kiwi client Liam in the South Island too. He’s been getting blistering results from his new downrigger:
That's a great result. I should take this opportunity to let the two dozen fishos waiting for their downrigger back order know that the ship is in botany Port as of 7th April. We will take delivery hopefully on Tuesday after Easter and send them out as fast as we can. Readers considering a downrigger can check them out here:
Thanks for reading and best of luck if you’re able to get out on the water over Easter
