This fishing rod is one of those sticks that, if you’re using correctly matched rod, reel and line, delivers amazing performance. It will cast our 40 gram jig sixty yards with 15 kilo braid. Fishing rod is made from 98% carbon so don’t slam the tip down on a hard surface or high stick it. It is incredibly responsive and you will feel it, when a fish grabs the jig and misses the hook. When you do hook up, the carbon construction really comes into play. It soaks up head shakes and jumps beautifully meaning its ideal for fish like salmon and mahi. Just took this rod to Norfolk Island on its first big test and I couldn’t believe how well it worked. Note that it is not a heavy muscle stick? But for micro jigging, soft plastics for snapper, popping or casting for dolphin fish, or spinning for longtails I honestly can’t think of a better option.
